Silent and clean: words that describe an electric gokart |
||
|
:: electric gokart :: An electric gokart certainly has some advantages over the conventional gas-powered gokart. One could naturally think that electric gokarts under perform gas karts because this is clearly what we see in regular sized cars. However, an electric kart with the right battery installed has no reason to be slower than the gas powered one. Electricity is a really convenient source of power when it comes to moving small karts. An average gas go kart exerts power up to 6 KW. So you can see how electric gokarts can easily outperform this by simply acquiring an engine of a higher KW rating. The only clear disadvantage that an electric kart has is the battery. In order for it to properly electrify the vehicle it must be recharged for a long period of time. It’s also very heavy and bulky; an important factor to consider when max speed is the objective. The upfront cost of a good battery can also be relatively high, but this cost is far lower in the long term when you consider its recharging capabilities.
