Think well before comparing two high performance go kart engines

High performance go kart engines can be tricky to define. Depending on the use you’re going to give to a go kart engine one type might be better than another. For example, for sprinting a two-stroke engine can be considered to give a better performance than a four-stroke engine. This is because the two-stroke engine gets a higher power per crankshaft turn ratio which is 1 explosion for every two turns of the shaft. For these engines to perform correctly you need to feed it with a mixture of oil and gas because the lack their own lubricating system. These engines have a cc of between 80-250 cc up to 15000RPM with HP power of up to 40. This is high crazy speed for a small go kart and great experience should be a requisite to use these engines.

4-dycle engines provide another type of performance. For Enduro competitions they perform better because they offer a higher mileage for gas used. Normal gasoline feeds the go kart, but you will need to lubricate it via a separate system. They also require liquid cooler, unlike the 2-cycle which is air cooled. The main advantage of these engines is that they outperform the 2-cycle engines when it comes to durability. They most closely resemble the engines that power big regular cars. With a decent gear system installed these go-kart engines need not to suffer too much.
