There are various types of kid gokarts, choose one depending on budget and age

Kid gokarts can be basically classified in three major categories: foot operated, pedal operated and battery operated. Depending on your budget and your kid’s age maybe one type of gokart is better than another. Foot operated carts are the most basic and simple types of ride on vehicles for children. Brands such as Little Tikes offer these toys that consist of a chunk of plastic with some moveable wheels attached to it. The kid moves the gokart by simply pushing forth with his legs that reach the ground. These are by far the cheapest and easiest to ride gokarts for children aged from one year and up.

Pedal operated gokarts, like those offered by Kettler, are more of a thrill. These spin off from the concept of tricycles, the kid gets the cart going by simply pedaling with his feet. Some sort of steering device such as a steering wheel or handlebars is used to take turns. Going with this option may come off as being a bit more expensive, but certainly much more rewarding.

The last type of go carts, the battery powered ride-on toys, are the most advanced types of rides for the kids. Like on a big gokart, you accelerate with a throttle pedal and you steer with a wheel. There are many variations of this type of cart, some with one speed, others with two or three speeds and even reverse. Battery operated vehicles, such as Power Wheels have become one of the favorite toys for children 5-10 years old.
